Fees

Interested in our J-1 Trainee or Intern Visa Sponsorship in the USA? There is a fee for participation is split into two installments – a non-refundable Application Fee, payable at the time of application submission and a Program Fee, payable at the time we issue your DS-2019 Certificate of Eligibility. The Program Fee varies according to the duration of your training or internship.

Visa Processing Fees

In addition to the Program Fee paid to Mountbatten, you will be required to pay the following additional fees:

US Visa Application Fee
(MRV fee):
USD $160**Payable to the U.S. Embassy/Consulate
SEVIS I-901 Fee:USD $220**Payable to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security

Instructions on how to pay these fees will be provided with your DS-2019 Certificate of Eligibility.

Additional Fees

The following fees may be applicable to you for the extra service you need.

J-2 Dependent FeeUSD $500For each dependent.
Priority Processing FeeUSD $300For applications submitted less than 3 weeks
prior to the Program Start Date.
Extension FeeUSD $500For each request to extend the program length up to the
maximum program duration (18 months for Trainee;
12 months for Intern).
Program Change/Amendment
/DS-2019 Replacement Fee
USD $250For each request to amend the Program Start Date, change
of Host Organization, or other program-related change and
for each replacement of a lost/stolen DS-2019 Form.
Host Organization Site Visit
New York City Area
USD $100 +
travel costs
For new Host Organizations with less than 25 employees or
less than $3 million in annual revenue.
Host Organization Site Visit
Outside New York City Area
USD $250 +

We also recommend you bear in mind the following additional expenses:

  • Travel to the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate for a visa interview
  • Airfare costs to and from the US, which vary according to the time of year and country / city of departure
  • Cost of accommodation/housing in the US
  • Local transportation costs to and from your training or internship placement
  • Trip interruption / cancellation insurance, personal possessions insurance, and additional medical insurance if required.
