Application Process
Q: Who is eligible to apply for the Mountbatten Program?
A: Applicants must have a university degree (or equivalent qualification), be fluent in English, and meet the visa requirements for the program location. For more infomation see the London program page.
Q: When should I submit my application?
A: We accept applications on a rolling basis for the London Program, but we recommend applying as early as possible to maximize your placement options.
Q: Is there an application fee, and is it refundable?
A: There is a non-refundable application fee. Details can be found on the Program Fee page.
Q: How long does it take to hear back after I apply?
A: For the London Program, we aim to notify applicants of our decision within 7 working days of receiving a completed application, including the application fee.
Costs & Funding
Q: What are the costs involved in the program?
A: Program fees cover placement and visa services, training, tuition and support. Detailed cost breakdowns are available on our website.
Q: Are there any scholarships or financial aid options?
A: We do not offer any scholarships or financial aid options at this time. Instead we encourage applicants to explore funding options through external sources.
Q: Why does Mountbatten charge for full tuition up front?
A: Paying the full tuition upfront allows ensures that you are not impacted by potential fee increases that may apply if paying module by module. This approach provides cost certainty and a streamlined enrollment process.
Q: Why doesn’t Mountbatten offer student loans?
A: Mountbatten does not have direct access to government-backed student loan schemes. To keep administrative costs low we do not provide in-house financing options atthis time. However, we encourage applicants to explore external funding sources, such personal financing options.
Program Structure
Q: What types of host organizations do Mountbatten interns get placed in?
A: Placements range from global investment banks and consulting firms to startups and may vary from intake to intake. We recommend candidates to be open and felxible to increase their chances of getting placed.
Q: What types of placements are available through the Mountbatten Program?
A: Mountbatten offers professional placements in business, finance, marketing, project management, technology, legal, HR, and non-profit sectors. Roles are matches based on your background and career goals, providing hands-on experience and the chance to grow personally and professionally in a global business environment.
Q: Is the placement paid or unpaid?
A: Interns receive a monthly training allowance to help with living expenses. Participants are encouraged to bring sufficient funds to cover inital living and travel expenses.
Q: What happens if I don’t get placed?
A: While we make every effort to place successful applicants, in some cases, a placement may not be available for all candidates. If this happens, we will provide you with guidance and the opportunity to defer to the next intake.
Visa
Q: What kind of visa do I need?
A: Mountbatten will help arrange the appropriate visa – Temporary Work – Government Authorised Exchange (GAE). You will receive detailed guidance upon placement.
Q: Can I stay in the UK after the program ends?
A: The visa is issued strictly for the duration of the program. You will need to return to your home country after completing the program.
Accommodation & Living
Q: Is accommodation included in the program?
A: No, it’s your responsibility to arrange your own accommodation. The program can provide guidance and resources to help you find the right direction.
Academic Study
Q: What postgraduate courses are available through Mountbatten?
A: Participants on the London Program can choose to pursue an online Postgraduate Certificate (PGC) or a Global MBA (GMBA), delivered and awarded by the University of Salford. New York Program participants are welcome to take up this opportunity as they return home post program.
Q: Are there continued study opportunities for alumni?
A: Yes! Through the Alumni Study Program, alumni can access flexible postgraduate courses.
Career & Alumni
Q: What career support is available during and after the program?
A: Participants benefit from workshops and ongoing support from the Mountbatten team. Alumni also gain access to job listings and career resources from fellow alumni.
Q: How do I stay involved as a Mountbatten alum?
A: You can join the Mountbatten Alumni Network, attend events, give back as a mentor, and connect with peers globally.
