What and where did you study before your Mountbatten internship?
Business Administration Degree, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, University Alexandru Ioan Cuza of Iasi, Iasi, Romania.

What made you apply for the Mountbatten program?
I wanted to experience a multicultural environment in New York while working and studying. For me personally, it was an experience that currently brought 10x returns in terms of mindset, relationships and professional skills.

Describe your sponsor company and your role within it
WealthEdge – a wealth management company, and my role was financial planning intern. I was able to interact with HNW and UHNW individuals and support their financial goals by conducting financial planning analysis, gathering insights and making recommendations.

What was the highlight/most memorable moment of your working experience during this year?
When I had to write my annual reflective essay – I was really proud of all the achievements and skills acquired. But most importantly, the feedback I received from Jerry, the owner of the company.

What was the social highlight/most memorable moment during this year?
The cruise on the Hudson River.

Please share a little wisdom/philosophy that you acquired during your internship.
It might not make sense at all now, but it will make 100% sense years later.

Would you have done anything differently, if you had your time over again?
Nothing. I think I did take the most out of the experience at that time.

What happened after completing the year – what did you do next?
I returned back to Iasi, Romania for a few months then I moved and lived in Brussels for 1 year and worked for an expense management company. Also, this is how I met my wife!

Where are you now in your working life and what do you do?
Now I am advising SaaS driven startups as a revenue architect and implementing HubSpot enterprise clients from the UK & Ireland, Belgium, UAE and US.

Do you have any future plans that you would like to realise & what are they (career & social)?
Careerwise, I would like to get an MBA and run an agency. Socially, I will definitely travel more.

What would people be surprised to learn about you?
I haven’t visited New York since I left in September 2017. I am missing it very much and I am planning to go on a trip next year with my wife and my son.
