My Alarm Goes off…
Alarm?! What’s that?..lol. I have two toddlers, ages one and three, they are my human alarm clocks, waking me up everyday at 6:30am sharp.
I’m Responsible For…
The marketing and operations – making sure the company is visible and running smoothly in every department.
I Got The Job…
Because my husband brought me on board! He knew that I had a knack for strategizing ideas into reality and that I was good with digital marketing and operations overall.
I pretty much run our household, so running the business was transferable skills…lol.
My Typical Day…
Includes drinking lots of coffee (this is a priority), but seriously, I am constantly creating new ways to educate our social media followers on the value of our products, recording and editing videos for content, writing copy for our email subscribers, and fulfilling orders.
The Culture Of My Workplace…
Although it’s currently only two of us working (Me and my husband), we’ve implemented a family-style culture where our future employees and customers feel comfortable reaching out to us with their feedback on our business model and our product value.
My Most Memorable Work Moment…
Launching the company on May 1, 2021, has to be the most memorable moment to-date. There’s nothing like having a vision, executing it, and then seeing it come to life. I’m so proud of our progress in such a short period of time, our growing community, and our ability to adapt to the ever-changing market.
My Role Models are…
Steve Jobs and Kanye West because I believe these are people who diligently think outside of the box and don’t conform to the world’s way of fulfilling their purpose in life.
The Most Challenging Part of My Job…
Growing an organic community has to be the most challenging. Nowadays, the majority of people only pay attention to your follower count before pressing the ‘follow’ button. So, if you’re a new company like us, people don’t see hundreds of thousands of followers, which makes it harder for them to take you seriously as a company and want to purchase from you. This is why social proof like reviews are valuable to us.
The Best Part of My Job…
Is creating our own rules. I enjoy coming up with new ways to gain exposure.
Plan B: If I wasn’t doing this, I would…
It’s extremely hard to say what I would be doing, my background is in finance, but my goal has always been to be my own boss and own an impactful company. I believe Kwerke is headed in the right direction, and with consistency and hard work we’ll implement bigger ideas like owning a bricks and mortar space that’ll provide photography education, products and services.
