What and where did you study before your Mountbatten internship?

I studied History (BA Hons) at Newcastle University.

What made you apply for the Mountbatten Program?

My sister, Alison Henry (née Cuthbert), had already completed the program and was still working in New York at the time. She was my biggest inspiration—and honestly, the idea of living in New York at 21 felt like the adventure of a lifetime.

Describe your sponsor company and your role within it.

I worked at Bishop Partners, a boutique Executive Search firm founded by Susan Bishop. I supported Susan directly while also diving into research and marketing projects. With no prior experience in the industry, I had to learn fast. It was a steep learning curve that taught me resilience and confidence, and by the end of the year, I’d become a trusted member of the team.

What was the social highlight/most memorable moment during this year?

There were so many. Exploring New York with fellow interns—rooftop nights in Manhattan, weekends in the Catskills, skiing in Vermont, even heading to Lollapalooza and the Jersey Shore. It was a year of once-in-a-lifetime experiences, and the friendships made along the way have lasted ever since.

Please share a little wisdom/philosophy that you acquired during your internship.

Say yes—even if you don’t feel 100% ready. Growth happens when you step into opportunities that scare you a little. That mindset has guided me throughout my career.

Upon reflection, what do you consider has been the biggest impact of your Mountbatten year?

It gave me courage. Uprooting myself to a new country, starting out in an unfamiliar industry, and adapting on the fly, proved that I could take on challenges I never imagined. That confidence has been the foundation of my career.

What happened after completing the year—what did you do next?

I travelled through Brazil and Argentina—an unforgettable trip—before moving to London. There, I built my career in marketing, working across several B2B organisations before finding my home at MSCI, where I’ve grown into a global leadership role.

Where are you now in your working life and what do you do?

I’m now Global Head of Private Capital Marketing at MSCI. My work focuses on developing and delivering data-driven strategies to raise brand visibility, generate leads, and drive growth in global markets. Every day brings something new. It’s fast-paced, challenging, and incredibly rewarding. I also still travel to New York, so I get my NYC fix!

Do you have any future plans that you would like to realise (career & social)?

I’m passionate about building high-performing teams and I’m always on the lookout for talented, driven people to join me. Right now, I’m hiring a Marketing Lead in EMEA as well as roles in New York and Mexico for those with private assets marketing experience. If this sounds like you, please connect with me—I’d love to hear from you.
