New York Alum becomes Obama Foundation Fellow

Alex Smith, New York Program alum, August 2007 Intake has been chosen as one of the 20 inaugural Obama Foundation Fellows out of more than 20,000 people from 191 countries. Alex has been recognized for his work as Founder and CEO of The Cares Family.
Post-Mountbatten Alex set up North London Cares, to bring seniors and young professionals together, to help both groups with loneliness and isolation, and has since grown this to South London and Manchester. As an Obama Foundation Fellow, Alex will be part of a small cohort of civic innovators from 11 countries around the world, who will come together over the coming two years to share their experiences of making community change and to amplify their ideas.
