CONGRATULATIONS

From the Mountbatten Institute/Mountbatten Program to

King Charles III and Queen Camilla

ON THEIR CORONATION

Saturday May 6^th 2023

Tomorrow marks the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III and Queen Camilla of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.  For us, who have worked at Mountbatten for almost 40 years, it is a momentous occasion, as His Majesty King Charles is the first member of the Mountbatten line of the Royal Family to ascend the throne.

Our history is very much intertwined with the Mountbatten family and it was King Charles himself, when Prince of Wales, who approved our use of the Mountbatten name  and who, on several occasions when visiting New York, met with Mountbatten Trainees  and Interns.

We wish him well as he assumes both temporal and spiritual leadership and are reminded of the words he will utter when he enters Westminster Abbey tomorrow: “I come not to be served, but to serve”.  That is the underlying theme of the Coronation and a challenge we would all do well to take into our hearts and ponder.
