Visa
The Exchange Visitor (J-1) visa is a temporary, non-immigrant educational and cultural exchange visa.
The Mountbatten Program is designated by U.S. Department of State to provide visa sponsorship in two J-1 categories: Trainee and Intern.
Upon accepting an internship or training placement, we work with you and your identified host organization to finalize your DS-7002 Training/Internship Placement Plan (T/IPP) and issue your DS-2019 Form, “Certificate of Eligibility for Exchange Visitor (J-1) Status”. Armed with your visa paperwork, you’ll be ready to apply for your visa. We guide you through the process of applying, including attending your visa interview at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in your home country.
If your J-1 visa is granted, the Embassy or Consulate will place the visa sticker in your passport and you’re officially on your way to New York. We coordinate your fly date with you, provide you with pre-departure support and advice on arriving in the USA, and prepare for your arrival in the Big Apple!
On successful completion of your program in New York, you’ll also have a grace period of up to 30 days for personal travel providing you with another opportunity to explore and experience more of the U.S.
