The Mountbatten Package
Our mission is to foster international and cross-cultural understanding through experiential education, practical training, and residence abroad, and to provide opportunities for personal growth and professional development. The Mountbatten Package has been developed to provide you with a comprehensive and supportive experience, and ensures that you have everything you need for a successful year in New York.
The Package includes:
- Host Organization Placement: Mountbatten handles all aspects of your placement, including sourcing training/internship opportunities, coordinating required documentation, and managing the matching and placement process of candidates with host organizations.
- J-1 Visa Sponsorship: Review & issuance of all visa documentation (DS-7002 Training Plan & Form DS-2019), coordination, and guidance
- Accommodation: Rent free, shared, fully furnished accommodation with all utilities included
- Monthly Stipend: USD $1,275 (before U.S. taxes)
- Professional Development: Online AFS Global Up At Work program
- Medical Insurance: J-1 Visa compliant medical insurance included (Accident & Sickness)
- Orientation: Pre- and post-arrival orientation, including opening U.S. bank account and applying for a U.S. Social Security Number
- Program Support: Ongoing monitoring and guidance for candidates, trainees, and host organizations throughout the Program
- Cultural Exchange: Access to cultural activities, volunteering, and networking opportunities
- Resources for filing U.S. tax forms
- Alumni Network: Access to the extensive Mountbatten Alumni Network upon successful completion of the Program
