Once you’ve secured your placement, we’ll work closely with you to get you to New York City. From visa processing guidance to orientation and accommodation coordination, we’ll support you every step of the way—so you arrive confident and ready to hit the ground running.

Professional Development
The Program is delighted to partner with AFS Intercultural Programs to enhance the Mountbatten package to include the AFS Global Up at Work Program. This online program is integrated into the Mountbatten experience and is delivered by AFS to Mountbatten participants in New York. The program enriches the practical training experience in New York and is part of our ongoing commitment to fostering inter-cultural understanding, educational and professional development, global competence, and empathy among participants from diverse backgrounds.
The AFS Global Up at Work Program teaches the skills and strategies necessary to work effectively and collaborate on diverse teams and is designed to support participants at any stage of their global competence development.
Participants Global Up by engaging in the program that’s categorized into modules that bring them Inward, Outward and Forward, equipping them with lifelong professional skills. After completing the Global Up At Work program participants are able to demonstrate a deeper self-awareness, an understanding of other perspectives, emotional intelligence and can bridge across differences, preparing them to be effective on global teams.
