One of the many benefits to the Mountbatten New York Programme is that you get centrally-located, rent-free accommodation for the whole year you are on the programme.
The Mountbatten riverside apartments are located on the Hudson River, just across from Downtown Manhattan. Many of the apartments have fantastic views of the Manhattan skyline from their windows.
Travel time on the PATH from the Mountbatten apartments is about 15 minutes to Wall Street (where many trainees work) and about 25 minutes to Midtown Manhattan. Such a short commute to work for our trainees means that they can spend more time enjoying what 'The city that never sleeps' has to offer.
The community where the apartments is located is called Newport, New Jersey. It is mostly inhabited by young professionals working in the city. Nearby the apartments is a mall, cinema, grocery store, gyms, a marina, bars, restaurants and a Starbucks. Newport also benefits from different taxes to NYC so the weekly shop is much cheaper than if it was done in the city. Also, Newport to Newark airport is only a 30 minute journey.
The Mountbatten Institute employs an on-site housing officer who lives within the community. The housing officer is there to assist with any apartment-related queries and as a point of contact for Mountbatten trainees available at all times.
