Mountbatten Institute - New York DB Programme
FINANACIAL INFORMATION
The Value of Your Scholarship
Deutsche Bank and the Mountbatten Institute will pay the following expenses on your behalf. All application and other fees will be paid by Deutsche Bank:
- Return air fare from a major international airport in India that flies directly to New York. You will purchase your own ticket and will be reimbursed by Mountbatten within two weeks of your arrival in New York. If you do not complete your internship then you will have to pay back the cost of your air ticket. Some fare restrictions will apply and candidates are advised to seek the lowest economy return fare. The Asia Pacific Regional Office will see if a group fare might be applicable.
- Participation fee of U.S. £1,955 will be paid on your behalf to Mountbatten by Deutsche Bank. This covers the cost of the Cambridge University academic courses and the Certificate in International Business Practice which is a requirement of the programme.
- You will be reimbursed by Mountbatten for the cost of applying for your U.S. visa. You must keep all receipts.
- We will pay for the fees involved in the issue of your U.S. Work Permit.
- You will receive free accommodation in furnished shared apartments.
- You will also receive a living allowance of U.S. $925 (tax free) per month to cover your living and local transportation expenses.
What You Must Pay
You will be responsible for the following expenses and costs:
- You will have to survive for the first two weeks before you get paid, so you will need to have between U.S. $500 - $1,000 to tide you over for that period.
Security Deposit
A Security Deposit (see Living in New York) of $300 is retained by the Programme by deducting $50 from each of the first 2 living allowance payments. This deposit will be returned without interest after the internship less any required payments for breakages, damage to apartment furniture, etc., and less any charges required for professional cleaning of the apartment.
Local Costs
Interns are responsible for their own telephone bills, food, entertainment and all personal items. You will have to pay for your own daily travel to work, all visits to the Mountbatten Office and any Certificate.
