About Us

The Mountbatten Business Institute is a division of the New York-based Mountbatten Institute, the premier institute in international business study abroad, with an emphasis on personal growth, professional expertise and knowledge in global business practices.

Founded in 1984, with its headquarters in New York, the Mountbatten Institute’s mission is to foster international and cross-cultural understanding through experiential education, practical training and residence abroad, and to provide opportunities for personal growth and professional development. Since its foundation, it has provided internship and international training opportunities for many thousands of graduates from the UK, the US and many other countries. It has Regional Offices in New York, London and Bangkok. The institute has specialized in providing one-year internships abroad and, in 2007, developed a Masters of Business Administration in International Business Practice. Today the Institute sponsors over 500 training placements annually. The Institute offices in New York include four seminar rooms and are located in the center of Midtown Manhattan at the corner of 42nd Street and Madison Avenue. The London classes are held at City University and/or Metropolitan University and are taught by a wide range of experienced tutors and professors carefully selected to deliver a first-class educational experience.

The organization was named in honor of the late Earl Mountbatten of Burma, a senior member of the British Royal Family. After a distinguished career in public service Lord Mountbatten became deeply involved in international education, particularly student exchange and international study. He believed that only through an understanding of each other's culture and aspirations could the next generation avoid the awful wars that affected his era. His elder daughter, Lady Patricia, the Countess Mountbatten of Burma, is our Patron. Although she is not involved in the day-to-day affairs of the Institute, she does lend considerable support and encouragement to our efforts. See Christ's College Cambridge and Wikipedia to learn more about Lord Mountbatten and his family.

The Mountbatten Institute has enjoyed professional affiliations in London and New York with various prestigious universities, including Oxford University, the University of Cambridge (of which we are an international partner), American International College in Massachusetts and St. Mary’s University College in London. The Post Graduate Management Program in India, developed entirely by the Mountbatten Institute and combining the best of these partnerships will, in many cases, follow the same syllabus and curriculum but will not share any other accreditation from partner institutions in London or in the US. This newly designed, cutting edge P G Management Program, offered through the Mountbatten Institute, is tailored for the practical and analytical global manager of the 21st Century.

The Mountbatten Institute has a tradition of pursuing and maintaining excellence. In keeping with these founding values, MI seeks to partner across countries with similar organizations which settle only for the best. To this end, MI sought Eduprobe as its Indian facilitator.

Eduprobe has been developing facilities for ‘learning and imparting’ training for the past decade. It has created a niche in the Training Industry through its research and analysis of needs of PG students and working professionals. Eduprobe believes that the business management stream is not only for business and marketing professionals from the corporate sectors but also should be sought and experienced by technocrats and scientists so as to achieve outstanding success in their chosen careers.

EP is driven by Dr. Nimrat Bawa, a medical doctor, with 2 MDs in Microbiology and Pathology, from AIIMS, India, and the Univ. of Wisconsin, USA, respectively. She has vast experience in areas of academics, management, the corporate world, diagnostics and the designing and construction of hospitals. Having observed individual and organizational problems closely, Dr. Bawa visualized the need for amalgamating technical and management areas for professional growth. Under her guidance learning became holistic and global, overcoming parochialism and creating what is today called ‘NBE Learning Systems’. These systems are also being adapted by several corporations and academic institutes.

In this situation it was felt that full-time, 2-year management study is not always a convenient option. Through our Postgraduate program, the skills of Management Training have been made concise and will be delivered in a consolidated format incorporating full and part-time study in less than one year.

This brought about the merging of view points of MI and EP, and led to a new system of learning - more open and transparent, offering greater flexibility and customization, with the mission of turning out professionals who can fulfill organizational goals and take ownership of their individual growth.

In 2009, the Mountbatten Institute established the Mountbatten Business Institute in New Delhi to administer and deliver academic programs in international business practice. The Mountbatten Business Institute works closely with its Indian associate Eduprobe.
