Mountbatten participants are sponsored to work in the UK, for 12 months, under Tier 5 (Temporary Worker - Government Authorised Exchange) of the UK Border Agency's Points Based System (PBS). Each participant is issued with a Certificate of Sponsorship, by Mountbatten, upon confirmation of placement with a London sponsor company. The Certificate of Sponsorship is a unique reference number that allows a participant to apply for and obtain a Visa from a British Consulate or Embassy in their home country, prior to entering the UK. The Programme advises and assists candidates with this process, but has no say in the granting of a Visa.
As part of the Visa application process, all UK visa applicants are required to submit their biometric data (finger scans and digital photo).
Upon conclusion of their programme, participants must depart the UK, in accordance with the country's immigration laws.
Comprehensive details on how to obtain a UK Visa are provided upon placement with a London Sponsor Company.
